Roca London Gallery

The concept for the Roca London Gallery begins with water in its many forms and phases as both an idea to make space and to express our adaptability and openness to change and innovation.

Water acts as a theme for the architecture theme, connecting all aspects of the Gallery. The displays and the areas around each display have been shaped by the movement of water. Water has created a changeable space, one which people will continue to return to.

Zaha Hadid Architects incorporate Roca’s established history and culture of innovation into the experience of the space. Rather than create a fixed gallery solely for products, Zaha Hadid has developed a flexible space for Roca, where displays, a meeting room, café bar, library, multi-media wall, reception and video screens are dispersed so visitors feel they are in an active design centre; a research hub that is much more than just a showroom.

At Tiempo BBDO we are very proud to have been involved in this project. The website and audiovisual elements, touch screens and projections we have developed for this Gallery allowed us to live the whole process of building a space that will become a reference for the design and architecture in London.

Tiempo is an advertising agency that was founded in Barcelona in 1960. From the outset the agency’s philosophy has been to go beyond advertising, by getting involved in our clients’ businesses, and to innovate, by creating ideas going beyond an advertising idea.

In 1976, the multinational BBDO, in line with its policy of joining up with local agencies, put its name to the agency, but from the very beginning showed respect for the local leadership and its way of understanding advertising. And that is how it has been until now. Today, in spite of the far-reaching changes affecting the marketing and communication industry, our role remains the same: guiding the brands we work for, giving them a direction, a meaning and a personality. And creating relevant contents that connect emotionally with people to make them prefer one brand over another.

Our way of working, of organising, of serving our customers is based on having an experienced senior team and surrounding it with specialists who cooperate with them. Instead of competing, we work as a team and practise creation. We like to be the hub of an open network of talent that will solve any business problem our clients may have. We work with communication specialists, but also with architects, computer programmers, designers, interior designers, chefs, film directors, painters, musicians, engineers and so on.

For us, the future is not a continuation of the past, but something that depends on what you intentionally do to influence it. That is why we enjoy the challenge of finding new solutions to increasingly complex and sophisticated problems. So we will continue to continue along this path. Open to everything and everyone.
